DESCRIPTION:Course organizers: Vadim Kessler\, Gulaim Seisenbaeva\n(gulaim.seisenbaeva@slu.se)\nSyllabus approved:\nNumber of credits: 15 ECTS\nSubject: Chemistry\nEducation cycle: Third (postgraduate)\nGrading scale: Passed / Failed\nPrerequisites: Master degree in Chemistry or Materials Science.\nTime: HT 2021\, 50 %\, Daytime\nCourse objectives\nAfter completing the course the student shall be able to\n• Discuss principal models for the electronic structure and bonding of atoms\, molecules and bulk solids.\n• Discuss and argue for application of different characterization methods for revealing the structure and bonding.\n• Discuss principal approaches to\, fundamental features of structure and chemistry\, and applications of elements in the groups of Periodic Table and their most important compounds. \nContent\nThe course will provide insights into most important theoretical principles in understanding the structure and reactivity of inorganic compounds.
