SUMMARY:eSSENCE Multiscale Modelling Meeting\, 3-5 June 2019 in Uppsala  – with "Physics-based and data-driven modelling" as a cross-cutting theme.
DESCRIPTION:Website: https://sites.google.com/site/emultiscale2019/home\nVenue: the Ångström Laboratory of Uppsala University \nMultiscale modelling (coupling & linking of models) is a central theme in molecular and materials modelling of complex systems\, and it is also a central theme of this meeting. Furthermore\, this is the 2nd international EMMC-eSSENCE meeting with the sub-theme of physics-based & data-driven modelling. How can physics-based insight and data-driven analysis best work together (or at least how can they complement each other)? Will the reliability\, accuracy and validity of our modelling results improve when data-driven approaches are mixed in with physics-based simulation techniques? \nRegistration is open! The deadline for registration and abstracts submission is 15th of May 2019. Abstracts on the general theme of multiscale modelling (we use the term in a broad sense) and on the data-driven & physics-based models theme are equally welcome! It is of course also perfectly fine to participate without a presentation – there will be many opportunities to participate in discussions. DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome you at the site of the 23rd Conference on Organometallic Chemistry (EuCOMC XXIII) that will be held under the auspices of the European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences (EuCheMS). This event will take place in the center of Helsinki from 16 till 20 June 2019. \nThe EuCOMC is organized every second year and has a now long standing tradition as an exchange platform for all aspects of organometallic chemistry and its applications. We intend to provide a valuable platform for scientific discussions as well as a stimulating meeting place encouraging a close partnership between delegates from academia and industry. SUMMARY:2nd Frontiers in Antibiotic Drug Discovery (FiADD)
DESCRIPTION:The symposium is organized by the Medicinal Chemistry Section of the Swedish Pharmaceutical Society to showcase future opportunities for antibiotic drug discovery in a stimulating environment. It is also designed to provide plenty of opportunities to meet other delegates\, renew friendships and foster new contacts. This symposium will be streamed live for those who can not attend physically. \nWho should attend:\nThis symposium should be highly interesting for scientists\, and representatives from SMEs and the pharmaceutical industry working in the field of antibacterial drug discovery. The aims are to look into the future\, at where and how new antibiotics will be discovered\, and to discuss the challenges that need to be addressed in developing them. SUMMARY:9th Molecular Quantum Mechanics conference (MQM19)
DESCRIPTION:The series of ”Molecular Quantum Mechanics” conferences are held as a triannual event and traditionally honor the scientific achievements of leading scientists in the field of molecular quantum mechanics\, who usually were born in the host country.\nThe MQM 2019 in Germany will be held in honor of Prof. Werner Kutzelnigg\, Prof. Wilfried Meyer and Prof. Sigrid Peyerimhoff and in memory of Prof. Reinhart Ahlrichs. All of these four outstanding scientists have made seminal contributions to the field of electronic structure theory\, in particularly to the understanding of electron correlation phenomena and in the development of new and powerful approximation methods in this area. \nThe conference will cover all aspects of theoretical chemistry but with a focus on wavefunction theory. There will be around 70 oral presentations including four historic lectures as well as two poster-sessions.
