SUMMARY:LINXS Partner event - Strategy workshop for IR spectroscopy beamline MIRARI at MAX IV
DESCRIPTION:This is a kind invitation to participate in a half-day digitally held workshop hosted by LINXS (https://www.linxs.se/) and MAX IV (https://www.maxiv.lu.se/)\, and dedicated to recent advances in synchrotron-based Infrared methods\, encompassing both micro and nano imaging in combination with IR spectroscopy. The meeting will also form the kick-off for a webinar series of IR-related talks during the autumn where we will be hosting in-depth introductory presentations on IR spectromicroscopy techniques for new users\, as well as showcasing state-of-the art research with synchrotron IR methods in various areas of science. We therefore welcome all researchers interested in or intrigued by IR spectroscopic imaging! \nThe aim of the workshop and webinar series is to bring together a community of researchers from Swedish & international universities and institutes\, industry and synchrotrons to develop and discuss IR methods and science. As a second goal\, we want to identify interest\, scope and science cases for a future IR beamline (”MIRARI”) at MAX IV. DESCRIPTION:Lördagen den 25 september kl 14 bjuder Umeå universitet in till ForskarFredag med en speciell utformning: fem forskare ska få berätta om sin forskning med hjälp av ståuppkomik\, stand-up. \n– Det känns verkligen superspännande och jätteroligt! Vår stand-up är en helt ny aktivitet i det nationella projektet ForskarFredag och körs endast i Umeå. På övningarna har det blivit mycket skratt och härliga insikter. Jag beundrar våra forskare väldigt mycket\, och vår moderator är en helt magisk person. Vi hoppas det blir mer ståuppkomik med forskare framöver på Curiosum\, säger Marianne Eik\, samordnare och projektledare på Curiosum vid Umeå universitet\, som arrangerar ForskarFredag Umeå. \nDe fem forskarna som deltar kommer från Umeå universitet samt från Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet i Umeå. De får hjälp av sammanslutningen för akademiska komediklubbar\, Bright Club\, samt St. Andrews University i Skottland med att genomföra ett standupuppträdande om åtta minuter per person. \nDe fem forskarna är:  \n\nAditya Pawar\, Designhögskolan \nBrendon Clark\, Designhögskolan \nChristina Julius\, Institutionen för molekylärbiologi \nEric Libby\, Institutionen för matematik och matematisk statistik \nJudith Lundberg Feltén\, SLU\n\nFöreställningens moderator är komikern och skådespelaren Monica Lindgren\, som även värmer upp publiken. \nMålgruppen är nyfikna unga och vuxna och uppträdandet kommer att genomföras på engelska. \nFör dem som vill delta på plats på Curiosum finns 35 platser som kan förhandsbokas.
