SUMMARY:Nobel Symposium 2026: From Molecules to Climate: A Fundamental Understanding of Chemistry in Earth’s Atmosphere
DESCRIPTION:Atmospheric chemistry investigates the chemical processes taking place in Earth’s atmosphere and their effects on its chemical composition\, future evolution and interplay with climate. In addition to contributing to the fundamental chemical knowledge\, this discipline has been addressing environmental problems such as air quality\, acid rain\, stratospheric ozone depletion and global warming. Since the 1995 Nobel Prize on atmospheric ozone many breakthroughs have been achieved but new challenges have also been identified. This symposium is for the leading experts in the field to present overviews of the latest advances in different topics\, identify challenges\, propose new research strategies and define common objectives to solve the present and future planetary challenges. \nChair\n\nBarbara Nozière\, KTH\, Sweden\n\nCo-chairs\n\n Mattias Hallquist\, Gothenburg University\, Sweden\nÖrjan Gustafsson\, Stockholm University\, Sweden\n\nInternational organizing committee\n\nSteve Brown\, NOAA\, USA\nNeil Donahue\, Carnegie Mellon University\, USA\nMarianne Glasius\, Aarhus University\, Denmark\nDwayne Heard\, University of Leeds\, UK\nYinon Rudich\, Weizmann Institute\, Israel\nSandhya Hagelin\, KTH\, Sweden
