SUMMARY:Nobel Symposium 2026: From Molecules to Climate: A Fundamental Understanding of Chemistry in Earth’s Atmosphere
DESCRIPTION:Atmospheric chemistry investigates the chemical processes taking place in Earth’s atmosphere and their effects on its chemical composition\, future evolution and interplay with climate. In addition to contributing to the fundamental chemical knowledge\, this discipline has been addressing environmental problems such as air quality\, acid rain\, stratospheric ozone depletion and global warming. Since the 1995 Nobel Prize on atmospheric ozone many breakthroughs have been achieved but new challenges have also been identified.
