The Svedberg
The Svedberg (1884-1971, egentligen Theodor Svedberg) var professor i fysikalisk kemi vid Uppsala universitet. Hans forskning fokuserade på kolloider och makromolekylära föreningar. Han fick Nobelpriset i kemi 1926 för de upptäckter han gjorde med den av honom utvecklade analytiska ultracentrifugen.

Priset delas ut till en framstående biokemist eller molekylärbiolog som är verksam i Sverige och som den 1:a januari under utdelningsåret har en doktorsexamen som är maximalt upp till och med 12 år efter PhD. The Svedbergpriset är en vetenskaplig utmärkelse som årligen delas ut i samband med Svenska konferensen om Makromolekylers Struktur och Funktion (Sweprot). I utmärkelsen ingår förutom en medalj också prissumman 40,000 kronor. The Svedbergpriset delas ut av Svenska Nationalkommittén för de Molekylära Biovetenskaperna inom Kungliga Vetenskapsakademin (KVA) tillsammans med Svenska Föreningen för Biokemi, Biofysik och Molekylärbiologi (SFBBM).
Nomineringen ska beskriva kandidatens enastående vetenskapliga prestationer inom biokemi eller molekylärbiologi, samt innehålla en beskrivning av hens nuvarande position, samt personliga prestationer (max 5000 bokstäver).
Dessutom ska CV och publikationslista för kandidaten bifogas.

The Svedberg
The Svedberg (1884-1971, actually Theodor Svedberg) was a professor of physical chemistry at Uppsala University. His research focused on colloids and macromolecular compounds. He received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1926 for the discoveries he made with the analytical ultracentrifuge he developed.
About The Svedberg Prize
The prize is awarded to a successful biochemist or molecular biologist who is active in Sweden and who has a doctoral degree not older than 12 years counting from the 1st January of the year when the prize is awarded. Link to more information about the prize.
The Svedberg Prize is a scientific recognition awarded annually in connection with the Swedish Conference on Macromolecular Structure and Function (Sweprot). In addition to a medal, the award also includes a prize of SEK 40,000. The Svedberg Prize is awarded by the Swedish National Committee for Molecular Biosciences within the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (KVA) together with the Swedish Society for Biochemistry, Biophysics and Molecular Biology (SFBBM).
The nomination should describe the candidate’s outstanding scientific achievements in biochemistry or molecular biology, and contain a description of the candidate’s current position, as well as personal achievements (maximum 5000 characters).
In addition, the CV and publication list for the candidate should be attached.
