Characterizing & engineering materials at a molecular level

14 december, 2016, 18:00 - 19:00

A lecture at KVA by visiting professor Brad Chmelka
There are strong incentives to develop new materials and processes that use, convert, or store energy more effectively, function under more demanding conditions, or produce less waste. Recent advancements have led to new capabilities to characterize, understand, and improve the properties and performances of heterogeneous materials for energy and environmental applications. These include new catalysts, advanced structural solids, and novel electrochemical and photophysical materials, which exhibit many similar molecular-scale attributes. Their understanding opens new opportunities for the design and engineering of advanced materials in ways that have not previously been possible.
The lecture is free of charge and open to the public. Registration is not needed. For more information please visit
