About the Event

Join us for the 2026 symposium on Machine Learning for Materials and Molecular Discoveries (ML2MD). At this symposium, we seek to highlight some of the key research developments at the interface of machine learning and materials of the past couple of years, focusing on the following themes:

  1. Generative AI for Materials and Molecules
  2. ML-accelerated Simulations
  3. Automation, Experiments, and Machine Learning
  4. Foundation Models for Materials and Molecules

Registration Information

The event includes coffee breaks (fika) and a poster session. Please register early as capacity for the conference is limited via the registration link below (note: the ”Sign up here” button is broken).

  • If you would also like to present a poster, please submit an abstract here, and use this template to prepare your abstract.
  • Contributed talks with be selected from the best submitted poster abstracts! Notifications for contributed talks will be sent out to the selected speakers by June 1st, 2026.

Conference registration is 500 SEK (excl. VAT). Registration is open from March 15th, 2026 until June 1st, 2026. Decisions on poster abstracts will be sent out starting Junst 1st, 2026.

This event is co-organized by the COST Action DAEMON. If you are from a COST member country (https://www.cost.eu/about/members/), it is possible to get travel support for this event by joining the open network DAEMON (https://cost-daemon.eu/).

If traveling in to Uppsala for the conference, note that the event will be located in the Ångström Laboratory (map: https://link.mazemap.com/kU3vkP2A). The venue is easy to reach via walking/public transport from many hotels in central Uppsala.
