The conclusion of the 1st Nordic Retrosynthesis Challenge is near. Out of the 12 teams that submitted synthesis plans for the target molecule bipoterpride B (ACIE 2024, e202402543), three have been selected to present their approach at the finals.

The finalists are:

– Tralling for Terpenes, Uppsala University

– Eduardoncita’s lab, AstraZeneca

– Masters in Cleavage, Lund University

The Nordic Retrosynthesis Challenge is a two-round event where competing teams propose and argue for a synthetic strategy toward a given natural product target. The challenge is organized by the chemical societies of the Nordic countries for everyone involved to learn, share, and grow as synthetic chemists.
