Tiseliuspriset för bästa doktorsavhandling i fysikalisk kemi 2025

Vi välkomnar nomineringar till Tiseliuspriset för bästa doktorsavhandling i fysikalisk kemi 2025. Avhandlingar försvarade vid ett svenskt universitet under 2025 kan nomineras för årets pris. Pristagaren inbjuds att presentera sin avhandling under den konferensen The Svedberg Centennial Workshop: Physical Chemistry in Sweden 2026 som hålls i Uppsala 19-20 mars 2026.

Nomineringen görs av handledaren, som måste vara medlem i Svenska kemisamfundet. Den ska innehålla handledarens motivering på högst en sida samt avhandlingen i elektroniskt format (pdf). Nomineringen sker via ett formulär på Svenska kemisamfundets hemsida senast 20:e januari 2026. Mer information om priset och utvärderingskriterierna finns via länken.

The Tiselius Prize for best PhD thesis in Physical Chemistry 2025

We welcome nominations for the Tiselius Prize for the best doctoral thesis in physical chemistry 2025. Theses defended at a Swedish university during 2025 can be nominated for this year’s prize. The prize winner will be invited to present their thesis at the meeting The Svedberg Centennial Workshop: Physical Chemistry in Sweden 2026 that will be held in Uppsala 19-20 March 2026.

The nomination is made by the supervisor, who must be a member of the Swedish Chemical Society. It should include the supervisor’s motivation of no more than one page, as well as the thesis in electronic format (pdf). The nomination is made via a form on the Swedish Chemical Society’s website no later than January 20, 2026. More information about the Prize and evaluation criteria I available via the link.

Nomination Procedure

Nominations should be submitted by the doctoral supervisor and must include: (1) A motivation letter (maximum one page) from the supervisor and (2) the doctoral thesis in electronic format (PDF). Nominations are submitted via the online form (see link below). The deadline for nominations is 20th of January 2026. Each supervisor may nominate only one candidate.

Eligibility and Evaluation Criteria

1. The PhD student´s thesis applies principles, practices, and concepts of physics to the study of phenomena in chemical systems.
2. The PhD student´s thesis successfully applies novel methods/experimental techniques, or ground breaking theoretical concepts to address an important challenge. The thesis demonstrate impact to the research community and, where applicable, benefit to society at large.
3. The thesis must include completed publications in respected peer-reviewed journals.
4. The doctoral thesis must demonstrate a high standard of scholarly writing, with an introduction that is accessible to non-specialists.
5. The prize is awarded on the basis of the student’s own achievements and not on the overall accomplishments of the research group.

Applications shall be submitted by the supervisor, who shall provide a written statement explicitly describing the student’s individual contributions.
